Activities

come stay with us!

Where to begin? Since we are locals, we can hook you up with just about any kind of adventure you are interested in.

Summer Activities
Indian Paintbrushes
Summer is our busiest season and Fly Fishing on Henry's Lake Outlet is fantastic! We are just a hop, skip and a jump from day trips like Yellowstone National Park, Virginia City (Montana's First Capital) and Nevada City Ghost Town. Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman is a big draw and the Tetons are less than a 2 hour drive away. Any way you look at it, the scenery in-between is everything you expect, and a big reason why so many come to enjoy the beautiful country we are blessed to be smack-dab in the middle of.

Fall Activities
Gorgeous Aspens
Not all hunters are looking for Elk, Deer, Moose, or Antelope. Trout hunters everywhere know that the fall hatches bring their own thrills and when the Aspens turn gold, it is a fly-fisherman's heaven! Hear the Elk bugle off our porch, or take a day trip to Yellowstone and see the racks for yourself.

Winter Activities
Snowmobiling
Obviously, Snowmobilers world-wide know this area for the spectacular vistas, literally hundreds of miles of trails and access to the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. But while the snowmobiling in and around Henrys Lake is terrific, the X-C trails are spectacular and offer a quiet retreat into nature that appeals to many who are looking for peace and solitude without the help of a snowmobile. Ice Fishing on Henry's lake is terrific through about mid-March, and if you are interested in a Christmas Holiday your family will never forget -- Well, words can hardly describe!

Spring Activities
come stay with us!
Chances are good you could have the lodge to yourself in the spring time if you are looking for an intimate getaway. However, a little known secret that the locals mostly keep to themselves is that after Yellowstone closes to snowmobiling, the daily cycle of melt/freeze, melt/freeze makes the National Forest incredibly accessible for snowmobiles! Talk to Tom for details.

About Henry's Lake
Gorgeous Aspens
Henrys Lake is located in the Centennial Mountains in Southeastern Idaho 15 miles from Yellowstone Park.  The lake is named after Andrew Henry, an early nineteenth century trapper, this lake is abundant with trout.  The outlet on Henrys Lake is where we are located.  With boat docks and launching area for boats this makes it quite convenient to fish and boat into the main parts of Henrys Lake.  There are many types of fishing trolling, bank fishing, casting and fly fishing.
Henry's Lake Trout
The lake contains basically three types of trout.  Cutthroat, brook, and hybrid, which are a cross between female Henrys Lake cutthroats and male rainbows.  The hybrids have joined brook trout as the trophy species of choice.  There are also a few brown trout taken each year.   With the goals of the Department of Fish and Game becoming a reality and the work of the Henrys Lake Foundation, the lake is a true trophy fish lake.
